BADA IMAMBARA

Bara Imambara, also known as Asfi Imambara is an imambara complex in Lucknow, India built by Asaf-ud-Daula, Nawab of Awadh in 1784. Bara means big.The building also includes the large Asfi mosque, the Bhul-bhulaiya (the labyrinth), and Bowli, a step well with running water.

CHOTA IMAMBARA

Chota Imambara, also known as Imambara Hussainabad Mubarak is an imposing monument located in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It took 54 years to finalize it. Built as an imambara or a congregation hall for Shia Muslims, by Muhammad Ali Shah, the Nawab of Awadh in 1838, it was to serve as a mausoleum for himself and his mother, who is buried beside him.

RESIDENCY IN LUCKNOW

The Residency, also called as the British Residency and Residency Complex, is a group of several buildings in a common precinct in the city of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It served as the residence for the British Resident General who was a representative in the court of the Nawab. The Residency is located in the heart of the city, in the vicinity of other monuments like Shaheed Smarak, Tehri Kothi and High Court Building.

HUSSAINABAD PICTURE GALLERY

Hussainabad Picture Gallery is reckoned to be one of the oldest picture galleries in Lucknow. Built in the year 1838 in a historical building by third Nawab – Mohammad Ali Shah, this picture gallery once served as the summer home of the royals of Lucknow. The imposing historical architecture wherein the much famed Hussainabad Picture Gallery is located is renowned by the name ‘Baradari’, which means ‘twelve doorways’.

LA MARTINIERE COLLEGE

La Martiniere College, Lucknow, established in 1845, was founded in accordance with the Will of Major General Claude Martin The College consists of magnificent eighteenth century building to which other imposing structures have been periodically added. Constantia, the imposing center-point  of La Martiniere, was designed as a country house of Major- General Claude Martin. He willed that he be buried in the crypt of the building.

JANESHWAR MISHRA PARK

The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav (session 2012-2017) laid the foundation stone of the park on 6 August 2012. The park was a dream project of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav who had asked his son and UP CM Akhilesh Yadav to dedicate a park in the name of Janeshwar Mishra.The park was modeled with Hyde Park in London as an inspiration.The park boasts the following features:Green belt spread across the park, Lakes, Sports centre and playground, Gymnasium, Cycle track, Jogging track, Theme park, Lawns, Gondola, Water bodies recharged through rain water harvesting, Entire park is solar powered.

CHAUDHARY CHARAN SINGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport is an international airport serving Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.It is situated in the Amausi area of the city, and was earlier known as Amausi Airport. It was later renamed in 2008 after Chaudhary Charan Singh, the fifth prime minister of India.

RUMI DARWAZA

The Rumi Darwaza and sometimes known as the Turkish Gate, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, is an imposing gateway which was built by Nawab Asaf-Ud-Daula in 1784. It is an example of Awadhi architecture The Rumi Darwaza, which stands sixty feet tall, was modeled (1784) after the Sublime Porte (Bab-e-Hümayun) in Istanbul.It is adjacent to the Asafi Imambara, Teele Wali Masjid in Lucknow and has become a logo for the city of Lucknow. It used to mark the entrance to Old Lucknow City.

HUSSAINABAD CLOCK TOWER

Husainabad Clock Tower is a clock tower located in the Lucknow city of India. It was constructed in 1881 by Hussainabad Trust to mark the arrival of Sir George Couper, the first lieutenant governor of United Province of Avadh. Husainabad Clock Tower is adjudged as the tallest among all the clock towers in India. It was built as a replica to the Big Ben clock tower of London.

NAWAB WAJID ALI SHAH ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN & MUSEUM

This zoological park was established on November 29, 1921 to commemorate the arrival of the Prince of Wales to Lucknow. Its establishment was conceived by the then Governor Sir Harcourt Butler. The complex was established in the 18th century by Nawab Nasiruddin Haider, the then Nawab of Awadh as a mango orchard. At that time it was known as Banarasi Bagh. A Baradari was built to sit here, which is still situated in the middle of the zoological garden with all its grandeur and dignity.

DILKUSHA GARDEN

The Dilkusha Kothi, also known as the “English House’’ or the “Vilayati Kothi’’ is a historical monument located on the banks of the river Gomti. Dilkusha Kothi is the remains of an eighteenth-century house built in the English baroque style in the quiet Dilkusha area of Lucknow in India. The house was shelled during its involvement in the Lucknow siege in 1857 together with the Residency and the nearby school of La Martiniere.

CHARBAGH RAILWAY STATION

The Charbagh Railway Station is a prominent ancient landmark in Lucknow. The railway station was built in 1923. Bishop George Herbert laid the foundation stone on 21st March, 1914. The renowned architect Mr. J.H Horniman sketched the map of the railway station. Charbagh, a locality towards the south of Lucknow, was known for the four gardens that were located there. Charbagh, the highly structured geometrical scheme of garden lay out where the axial paths intersect at the garden’s center is said to have been brought to India by the Mughals. The design of this magnificent structure exudes splendor and elegance.
